Tennis and Pickleball Policies & Procedures
Here's everything you need to know for a winning summer on the courts:
Free-Play Court & Private Lesson Booking Rules
Courts/clinics/lessons may be booked up to 1 week in advance (bookings open at 8am, 7 days prior) by:
CourtReserve (website or app)
Phone (705-772-6716) or in person at the tennis hut between 9am-4pm on weekdays
Every member is allowed three advance free-play bookings (both tennis & pickleball within the available-to-be-booked week).
Every member is allowed one private lesson weekly on a weekday and another private lesson on weekends.
If a lesson/court is available to be booked 24 hours in advance, it will not count towards your weekly allotment.
Accurate Booking & Guest Policy
All members should confirm players are listed accurately in CourtReserve prior to stepping on the court.
Guests must be booked into CourtReserve
Guest fees:
$20 for a free play booking, and an additional $20 for a clinic
Maximum 2 SLYC court visits per guest per season.
If guests wish to play more than twice, guests must become members. Membership pricing:
30+ years: $210
0-29 years: $32
Cancellations & Rainouts
If only 1 or 2 people are registered for a clinic 24 hours prior, the registrants will be given the option (via email) to reply within 6 hours if they wish to turn the clinic into a semi-private or private lesson.
If a clinic is not converted to a semi/private lesson, the court will be converted to free play
When a court or clinic is rained out on weekdays from 9am-4pm, operations will update the scheduler in CourtReserve.
Clinics will be refunded if the clinic runs for less than half of the scheduled time.
No-shows
Our tennis and pickleball free-play courts are in high demand and we've seen an increase in the number of "no-show" courts. Out of respect for your fellow members, we ask that you take care to cancel bookings if your plans change and you cannot use the court you've booked.
You can cancel your free-play booking via CourtReserve or by visiting or phoning the tennis hut (705-772-6716) between 9am-4pm, Monday to Friday.
If we continue to see high levels of no-shows, we will be forced to consider no-show penalties (fees and/or court booking restrictions).
