Surveillance Cameras. One night during the summer of 2018, vandals dumped a number of our sailboats into the lake, along with canoes from the ASLC. Such irresponsible and criminal actions could have caused significant harm to other boats and boaters on the lake, as well as potentially causing significant damage to SLYC property. As a result, the Board of SLYC determined it was necessary to install surveillance cameras.
The data from our surveillance cameras is:
(a) stored in encrypted format; (b) password protected; (c) deleted after a reasonable period of time (where we are investigating an incident, we may keep particular footage for a longer period of time); (d) used to investigate vandalism, possible criminal activity, non-compliance with club policies, accidents or other safety issues; and, (e) is only accessible to those with a “need to know”.
