Head Tennis Pro: Claudia Voicu
Claudia is certified by the TPA (Tennis Professionals Association) as a Club Pro 2 with 11 years of experience. She moved to Canada from Romania at the age of 12 and played her competitive junior tennis in Toronto. Claudia was a top 10 ranked junior in Ontario through the early part of her tennis career and received a tennis scholarship to Olivet Nazarene University in Chicago, competing in the NAIA division. After she graduated with a communications and journalism degree, Claudia returned to Canada to pursue her passion of teaching tennis. Over the past 10 years she has been highly involved in a wide range of coaching, from young juniors to adults keen to learn the game. She is passionate about the game and making others fall in love with the sport that has given her so much.
Racquets Operations: Isabela
Dorado-Smith
Isabela is an undergraduate Psychology student at McGill University in Montreal, Quebec. This is her second summer working for SLYC, though she has spent her summers at Stony Lake involved in sailing and tennis for many years. Growing up a part of the Juniper Island community, she is truly looking forward to working with racquets again this summer. Isabela is here to help our community with memberships, scheduling, billing, and any general questions regarding the racquets program at SLYC. Please feel free to pop by the tennis hut this summer if you have any questions or concerns!
Assistant Head Pro, Scheduling: Chloe Paradine
Chloe is a dedicated member of the Stony Lake Yacht Club tennis community, bringing passion and enthusiasm to her role as Assistant Head Pro, Scheduling. Chloe is going into her second year at McGill University, studying Finance and Entrepreneurship. She has seven years of experience in the SLYC racquets program, three as a volunteer and four as a coach. Chloe loves tennis and the community it creates at Stony Lake. Whether she’s on the court leading a variety of clinics or in the tennis hut coordinating schedules and planning tournaments, Chloe brings an energy and dedication to every aspect of her role. She is eager to take on the challenge of her new position and looks forward to another fantastic season at Stony Lake!
Assistant Head Pro, Camps: George Zimmermann
George has been a part of the tennis program for the past seven years as a volunteer and coach, and this year is an Assistant Head Pro, organizing all the kids’ camps. If you have any questions about the kids’ afternoon racquets camp, please send a message directly to him a egroegzimmermann@hotmail.com. George just finished his first year at U of T studying Chemical Engineering. Expect to see George around the courts helping in all clinics and hiding tennis racquets for a scavenger hunt. George is very excited to spend another summer on the lake coaching tennis!
Assistant Head Pro, Property/ Volunteers: Malcolm Charlton-Parker
Malcolm has been committed to the tennis program at the SLYC for the past seven years as a volunteer and coach. This year, he takes on the role of Assistant Head Pro focusing on introducing our racquets volunteers to the team and developing them into coaches of the future, as well as overseeing court maintenance. Malcolm is going into his second year at Queens University, studying Applied Mathematics and Mechanical Engineering. This summer, Malcolm will be leading different clinics for all ages, as well as training and scheduling our new volunteers. You can also catch Malcolm up early in the morning, delivering newspapers to Lower Stony. He is very excited to be coming back for another season and looks forward to seeing everyone around the lake!
Head Junior Pro: Daniel D’Almeida
Daniel is entering his fourth year at the Tennis Hut, bringing a blend of volunteer experience and professional dedication. After several seasons of hard work and passion for the game, he’s proud to step into the role of Junior Head Pro.
A recent graduate of Blessed Trinity Catholic Secondary School in Grimsby, Daniel will be attending Queen’s University in the fall to study Economics, with future plans to explore law. Outside of tennis, he enjoys golfing at Wildfire and spending time with friends.
Daniel is excited for another fun-filled season at Juniper and looks forward to sharing his love for the game with players of all ages.
Junior Pro: Addison Hubbs
Addie is excited to return for her second year at the Tennis Hut, after starting as a volunteer and now continuing as a staff member. She attends Lakefield College School and will be entering Grade 11 this fall.
Addie loves staying active—whether it's playing basketball and volleyball or spending time outdoors with friends. Known for being both helpful and dependable, she’s looking forward to another great season on the courts!
Junior Pro: George Durno
George has been part of the SLYC community for as long as he can remember, and the club holds a special place in his heart. He attends St. Michael’s College School and will be entering Grade 11 this fall.
Now in his third year at the Tennis Hut, George has gained valuable experience and developed strong skills in teamwork and responsibility. Outside of tennis, he enjoys playing lacrosse and hockey. Known for his kindness and sense of humor, George is excited to be back for another great summer at SLYC.

Junior Pro: Johnny Bart
Johnny is returning for his third year at the Tennis Hut and brings great enthusiasm and experience to the team. A student at Saltus Grammar School in Bermuda, he’ll be entering Grade 11 this fall.
A multi-sport athlete, Johnny enjoys basketball, golf and tennis. He’s excited to be back on the courts and looks forward to sharing his love for the game with players of all levels.
Instructor: Beckett MacDonald
Beckett has been volunteering at the Tennis Hut for the past two years and brings a positive attitude and strong work ethic to the team. This fall, he’ll be starting Grade 9 at Humberside Collegiate Institute.
Outside of tennis, Beckett enjoys playing basketball and badminton. Known for his sense of humor and dedication, he’s excited to be part of another great season at the Hut!

Ian Van Dorsser
Ian has been a part of the Juniper tennis community since 2018 and is excited to return for his second year as a member of the SLYC Racquets staff. Passionate about the game and always eager to improve, Ian brings great energy and enthusiasm to the court.
This fall, he’ll be starting Grade 9 at Glebe Collegiate Institute. Outside of tennis, Ian enjoys playing the drums and spending time fishing. Described as both eager and athletic, he’s looking forward to another fun season and hopes to see you out on the courts!
