Head Pro Application

The SLYC Racquets Program is looking to hire Head Pros to help us design, manage, and lead the Summer ‘26 Racquets Program.  We are looking to create a Head Pro Leadership Team that together has strong off and on-court experience and works cooperatively with each other and the Racquet Directors to create a strong and welcoming SLYC Racquets Program. How to Apply: Please answer the two questions below in a document (one page maximum) with your name, email, and phone at the top.  Please email the PDF to slycinfo@gmail.com by Wednesday, October 1, 2025. Note: It is not necessary to have both on-court and off-court experience - we welcome all candidates to apply. 

Question #1: 

An ideal off-court pro is:

  • Personable and welcoming to all members and guests.

  • Reliable, punctual, detail-oriented, organized, and conscientious. 

  • Skilled in responding to members’ questions, requests, and feedback.

  • Open to becoming adept at Court Reserve software.

  • Open to learning how to analyze and interpret data.

  • Open to feedback and willing to make modifications, as needed.

What experience do you have that demonstrates your ability to be an excellent off-court pro? (It does not have to be racquets-related.) Please share your interest in off-court responsibilities. 

Question #2: 

An ideal on-court pro is:

  • Personable, enthusiastic, prepared, reliable, and punctual.

  • Knowledgeable about tennis and/or pickleball technique and strategy. 

  • Understanding and responsive to members’ different attitudes, preferences, and skill levels.

  • Skilled in designing and adjusting appropriate programming and drills.

  • Skilled in feeding with accuracy and appropriate speed.

  • Open to feedback and willing to make modifications, as needed.

What experience do you have that demonstrates your ability to be an excellent on-court pro? Please share your interest in on-court responsibilities.

Compensation/Salary:

  • Based on experience, qualifications, agreed-upon responsibilities, and time commitment.

  • For those who are hired without nearby lodging, a basic cottage and boat to travel to and from the club can be included in the compensation package.
