The SLYC Racquets Program is looking for Assistant Head Pros, Junior Pros, Operators, and Volunteers to help us successfully run the Summer ‘26 Racquets Program. We are looking to create a team with strong on- and off-court experience who work together to build a fun, welcoming SLYC Racquets Program for members of all ages. Please email the PDF to slycinfo@gmail.com by Monday, January 5, 2025. Note: It is not necessary to have both on-court and off-court experience - we welcome all candidates to apply. We are open to non-tennis-playing, operations-oriented employees and volunteers.
We are looking for candidates who demonstrate a desire to grow into future Racquet Leaders who will help ensure smooth program transitions from summer to summer.
Off-Court Opportunities:
An ideal off-court pro is:
Personable and welcoming to all members and guests.
Reliable, punctual, detail-oriented, organized, and conscientious.
Skilled in listening to members’ questions, requests, and feedback.
Open to becoming familiar with Court Reserve software.
Open to learning how to analyze and interpret court and usage data.
Open to feedback and willing to make modifications, as needed.
Comfortable monitoring court usage and approaching members and their guests.

On-Court Pro Opportunities:
An ideal on-court pro is:
Personable, enthusiastic, prepared, reliable, and punctual.
Knowledgeable about tennis and/or pickleball technique and strategy.
Understanding and responsive to members’ different attitudes, preferences, and skill levels.
Skilled in designing and adjusting appropriate programming and drills.
Skilled in feeding balls with accuracy and appropriate speed.
Open to feedback and willing to make modifications, as needed.
Preferred: Instructor Certification
