NEW THIS YEAR – COMMUNITY POTLUCK:  When you buy your ticket, you will receive an email asking you to contribute a vegetable side dish, salad, appetizer or dessert.  As always, we will provide the beef, salmon, and vegetarian main courses.  (Ticket price has been lowered from years past to reflect this new, more community-driven effort.)

Over the winter, we investigated several options to try to meet the needs of our changing community.  Full catering was explored, partial catering considered BUT feedback kept coming back to few people were willing to pay extra and almost everyone wanted to maintain the tradition and “old Stony Lake feel” of the dinner dance.  So….

In order to continue to accommodate the larger numbers we saw last year (double the previous year), potluck was determined to be the most old school, community-based solution.

Stony Lake has a deep tradition of volunteerism.  In order to continue the tradition of the annual SLYC Dinner Dance, we need more help.  We need adult and teenage volunteers to help with planning, decorating and set up, we need volunteers on the night to help with picking up and dropping of the band and hired help, help with checking people in, serving and bringing plates upstairs after dinner and we need help with clean up the next morning.  Please consider taking on a small role to ensure that the SLYC Dinner Dance can continue for many years to come.  Please contact me by email: shelaghdurno@gmail.com or phone: 705-654-3456.
